Overnight, Moscow's aerial assaults have led to blackouts in multiple districts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were injured while local people in the city's east were left without electricity and dealt with disruption to drinking water, per reports from local authorities.

Simultaneously, a minor was killed in a separate assault in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southern area, as reported by area administrators.

Moscow has increased attacks on power infrastructure over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has requested "real steps" from partner nations to apply pressure on Moscow.

"What's needed is not symbolic gestures but decisive action - from the US, European nations and the G7 - in supplying defensive weapons and enforcing sanctions," was stated in a public message.

He said that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and several dozen missiles targeted the country's power systems, characterizing such assaults as "cynical and calculated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as winter approaches.

Energy officials said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and maintenance teams were working to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes hit energy infrastructure and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the strikes on the city have been transported for medical care, according to city authorities.

Area administrators said the metropolitan region experienced significant strikes overnight. A minor lost their life and multiple civilians were injured.

The assaults come after periods of air raids in the area, parts of which are currently controlled by invading troops.

The entire country is on alert for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are harder to spot.

Authorities told reporters that Russia was deliberately attempting to damage the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already affecting gas facilities.

Officials stated energy workers and government agencies were bracing for more assaults.
