I'll stamp all over 'serious combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round fight which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the two fighters met personally to publicize the upcoming boxing match.

Former twice world boxing king Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami's arena on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I plan to break his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove my superiority," Joshua, 35, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I will genuinely try to hurt him. That's my goal."

Respectful Exchange

Despite such comments, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally known for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul instead attacked former Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "a joke" after the Cameroonian rejected a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, targeted UK opponent Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite declaring he will damage his opponent, Joshua refused to talk badly about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he said.

Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Still, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's largest financial successes, frequently receiving huge paydays.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old anticipated a knockout win in round four or five and asserted he would derail the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.

"It will be my match with Fury next year," Paul declared.

Size Disparity

As Joshua and Paul met for the usual confrontation, with their physical disparity evident, it emphasized just how surprising this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the bout is truly happening.
